How many hard conversations lately have you had to lead, be on the receiving end of or simply observed? I trust you would agree that there have been more of late.
In a recent article: 9 Future of Work Trends Post-COVID-19; the pandemic has increased the trend of employers playing an expanded role in their employees’ financial, physical and mental well-being. Therefore, leaders are having more challenging and sometimes hard conversations with their team members.
Overlay this with a greater percentage of vulnerable customers who are sharing harrowing stories and in some cases feelings of disbelief and despair, making conversations with employees even trickier to navigate and respond to.
It feels like leaders need a quick master’s degree in psychology and coaching people, or could it be easier than this?
Sure there’s a growing demand for certain skills in companies trying to prepare leaders for the future of work. And there are varied human-centric skills that will serve leaders as we adapt to a more vulnerable workforce and more vulnerable customer after the pandemic, but for now lets just say that building greater muscle and skill in conversations with high EQ could be enough.
Hard conversations are inevitable during these times, so how do we have them with a high level of emotional intelligence that allows you and the other person to feel cared for and to build trust?
What you will learn
In this workshop, Jaquie will unpack:
- Crafting and learning the surprising power of questions, when shaped in a certain way.
- The 4 components to ‘holding space’ and how saying less does more.
- The 3 stages of a conversation that will build rapport with a team member or customer, quickly.
Here is a testimonial from one of our happy clients, Michael:
“A great way to finish the day, bookending it with meditation and awareness. I am ready to go transition from work desk to kitchen and be present with my family. I am grateful to have a boss who understands the importance of coming together as a team to connect.”
This class will be hosted on Zoom and will include breakout rooms where you will be interacting with other participants. Your individual link will be emailed to you after you register.
